Camouflaging Allery Eyes with Concealer

Concealer can be considered a wonderful tool in our beauty arsenal. If used properly it can drastically enhance our looks. It can brighten a tired face, cover blemishes and it can totally conceal the effect of allergy eyes. However, many of us find it difficult to apply correctly.

Having seasonal allergies, and the effect this has on my eyes is not pretty. For years I attempted to camouflage my dark circles and red rimmed eyes. I would apply concealer and it seemed to just emphasis everything I wanted to cover or camouflage.

Without any makeup.
Close-up of red allergy eyes.
Standard practice was to apply the concealer under the eye... directly on top of the dark circles.

This never worked for me...
Then one day I stumbled onto a tutorial on how to wear concealer the modern way and it was like the heavens opened up and the angels started to sing. Well, perhaps it wasn’t all that but it has most certainly made a difference.

I know I wasn’t the only woman who found concealer daunting and/or ineffective. But, once you know the basics and try the application process below, you'll find concealer may be your best beauty purchase to date. In fact, you may skip foundation completely.

Basically, it takes only seconds to perfect.

You apply the concealer in a triangle shapeand blend it down into your check area and up into your brow bone area. And, an additional tip for the red rimmed eyes that allergies cause... use a flesh toned eye pencil and line the rim of the eyes.

Easy peasy!

Here is a new way verse old way.

Working in the office

Always get up, get dressed and get on with your day.

Some days there are millions of details that need to be taken care of in the office. Even if I know I will not leave my office, I still like to dress the part of a woman conducting business. It makes it easier to focus on my business at hand and I always feel more productive.

Please forgive the mess of my office... I have been devoting all of my energy into building my business.

On this particular day I wore my Loft tiered skirt and a wonderful pink and white tailored pinstriped blouse from H&M.

And, I just can't go wrong with a sexy pair of strappy sandals that have a lovely tassel.

This wonderful pink pearl necklace was made by my guy. He is a keeper!

Do you dress for work even if you know you will not see a sole??

Statement Necklace

I love a wonderful statement necklace to upgrade a classic, translation plain, outfit. My guy made me this one years ago and I love it just as much today as I did the day he gave it to me.

How to create the illusion of fuller lips

As we age our lips tend to thin out and fade due to the loss of collagen, a protein that supports the bodys soft tissue. To help preserve the fullness of your lips protect them from the sun by wearing a lipstick or lip balm with sunscreen.

An added benefit of wearing lip protection is that lips can be defined to look plump and fuller.

Pick out a neutral-colored lip liner, one that's matches your natural lip color. Use the liner to trace over your natural lip line and fill in the rest of your lips. Your lips will look plumper, and you can swipe on some lip balm and head out the door. Or, if you prefer a little more color, apply some lipstick on top of the liner for added lasting power.
